from what i have heard you need a data package reguardless. u can't steal internet with wifi......sorry

The whole point of Wi-Fi on the Bold is to be able to use that for internet instead of your providers 3G/Edge, etc. I have several applications that work over just Wi-Fi, even when I turn off the mobile network.

Yes, you can access App World with wifi only.
