I have a 9320 and have noticed that all apps I download require access to my contacts. I am running 7.1 b2192.

Can anyone recommend a free app that does not require access to my contacts?

it depends upon the type of application.
for example, whatsapp cannot work without contact access
a weather app shouldn't. also, some apps use it for ads, i guess
