    It's on a friend's phone so I only had a minute to dig. Decided a screen was quicker.I'm talking about the icon on the far right. The purple one

    In my quick breeze through her apps, I did not see one that matched this icon.
    I will not see this person until Monday so I can't take more time to look myself.

    Wouldn't expanding the Notification drop down have revealed more info? And then clicking on the notification so it opens up? Or is this a quiz?! Lol

    My thoughts exactly! It appears to be some sort of "countdown" reminder application.
    It's probably an application similar to Target Date where customized icons are used in the notification area for specific events.
    BlackBerry World - Target Date - Create count down days as icons on the HomeScreen and on the Notification area

    Maybe your friend's (or one of her friend's) birthday, or celebration event is coming in 1 day.
    Tell her to click the notification or check her calendar for some sort of upcoming event.
