Does anybody know how to remove those annoying canadian holiday popups in the lock screen from showing up on the phone. I'm using the blackberry classic. I've tried to disable it in the calendar settings but it doesn't go away

In your calendar you should be able to MANAGE by swiping down? (I can on my Z30).
Uncheck that calendar if you can see it. That should stop those events.

Let me guess you use outlook. It doesn't look like you can.

In the calendar App, with one finger swipe down from top, you open the middle icon "manage"... remove the tick from the calendar so it is nolonger shown (and thus you no longer recieve the notifications)

Not if the calendar is listed seperately. On my outlook calendar, I have holydays (Feiertage) and birthdays (Geburtstage). I can display any I want.

Here is the case when I remove the tick from the holiday calendar
