Lately I've noticed that when I'm in a call either phone or BBM voice that when I remove the phone from the side of my face the sensor can't tell that its away from it and the screen doesn't reappear so I'm stuck waiting for the other person to hang up. Something that frustrated me with my previous samsung. Maybe it's a software bug and not a hardware issue?

anyone else experiencing this?

If you have a screen protector on this might be fooling the sensor and making it stay off. Try it without it if you have one on to see if it improves or not.

my mums galaxy s2 did that when she had it upgraded to 4.1, she has to use a workaround by pressing the volume key to bring the display back up when she needs to hang up apparently its rom/os based but people reported it on gingerbread too. it might be the same for z10 os version, try a different one and see if it still happens

I don't have a screen protector on. But I failed to mention that when it's just a regular call and I try to press the red button to end call it fails to recognize my action. So I'm starting to think that it's the phone app.
