This evening I received an email which I opened. It looked like is was from RIM asking for my BB Beta Zone ID or BBID so they can make them the same so its easier for me login in to BB BZ.

Only a recently I saw about it here PSA: Read this before you click on that BlackBerry ID email | CrackBerry.com

I didn't open any links or enter the ID

I took a snap incase others get it.

    No worries @ Sputneek.

Aha cool, I was fortunate to find the article. If not, I would have gave them what they asked for like a wally.

EDIT: A big Thanks goes to Adam Zeis who wrote the article.

    It looks good so far.

There hasn't been anyone who has said they've gave the information thinking it was actually RIM.

I assumed the information in the email was real as it stated once the change was completed when i next log into the beta zone it would ask me to update my details to link my BBID to my beta zone account.

After visiting the actual BB zone site there really are legit login changes concerning your BBID upcoming in the near future. I ignored the email and just logged in to the actual site out of curiosity.....

Luckily I ran across this because I just got this email today, even though I read the article about the upcoming fake email about a week ago.

It does seem legit now. I was acting off the info I had at the time from CB & N4BB.

Strange how they warn us then soon after I get an email from them about this which, as far as I can remember, I never have about the logins.

"The email is a dead-on copy of a legit one from RIM starting out "To enjoy the full benefits of your BlackBerry ID, please follow the instructions in the attached file."

....Who wants to take the risk and check it out for us ???

    Scratches head !

Dude, if you even bothered to look at the links posted. Or read the emails you will see one is for real you don't even have to use the link just go to beta zone.
The other (fake) says to download (spyware) a app from a link.
