I just deleted the BlackBerry Facebook app, which has always been unreliable and functionally crippled, due to its high battery usage. I'm hoping this one is easier on the battery. One thing I forgot is how much better ios and android apps are compared to BlackBerry versions.

Does it let you get notifications when closed? Never tried it.
Remember that the Android app is developed by Facebook themselves and the BlackBerry app is developed by BlackBerry themselves. Also the Android app is way older than the new BlackBerry 10, which means it takes time to get us on par with the other platforms.
I do agree that it still needs a lot of work tho.

Enjoy all the annoying advertising and various suggested crap, that's one thing I don't miss when I switch between my nexus tablet and my Z10

Actually I spoke too soon. The app takes too long to open. The android runtime isn't up to it. No. Notifications don't work with the hub. I'm just trying to kill apps that are killing the z10s weak battery

What I did was to save a Web page of my Facebook account as an icon. It opens faster than the native app and is richer in features.

I still keep the native app, however, so I can get notifications.

Facebook app has never drained battery. Try a security wipe or something and start over.

Yah. FB app shouldn't drain battery when closed. The push should work independently, meaning it should give notifications even when the app is closed

Facebook app does kill battery according to device manager. I will try to just save a shortcut. Thanks for the suggestion.

My FB app doesn't drain the battery. I don't have notifications tho. Just check it every so often. I think the interface has been more reliable than the earlier OS. No complaints.
