I think you have downloaded the wrong version of amAze.
Go back to the download page. Notice that there are two versions: BES, BIS(it's the one that doesn't say BES...).
If you don't know which service you use, and one of the two gave you "Communication problem", you probably need the other one. That is assuming that your WEB settings are correct and your phone can establish Internet connection.
The sound issue that beeray mentioned is a totally different thing.
