I am not pleased by the lesser of two evils, carrier wise. I may have to settle for the 9650 just because Sprint has better coverage in my area. Any thoughts or experiences with Tmo or AT&T with the 9780? Feedback appreciated!

Input from Sprint 9650 users welcomed also! Thank you

The 9650 and 9780 are basically the same phone spec wise (9780 has a slightly larger processor, the camera has higher MP, and the 9650 looks a bit different on the outside, but as far as I know, thats about it).

I just got a 9650 and love it... plus OS6 runs beautifully on the device

    (I'm on Verizon though, btw)

Looked into Vz and their data packages were a bit more. I am familiar with both their specs and agree there isn't much diff. I will have to look into Vz's coverage in my locale. Thanks SaMaster!

Also here in Wa. Vz's retail price on a 9650 was more than Tmo's 9780 for some odd reason. By almost 70 bucks.

    Of course, no problem.
Can't you get the 9650 on Sprint though as well? Why not just stay with them? They have OS6 running on their Bolds too! (also the Style is a REALLY cool phone, if you like the flip form factor)

Yeah, I thought about a Style, gonna do some touchy feely BB stuff this weekend and check them all out. But I am torn. With the release of the new BB's soon I will probably be kicking myself here in a few months! Haha thanks again.

    Ya. I got a refurbished 9650 for $200 so I didn't break my contract.
Now I have a great phone and can hold on until the new BBs drop without problems.

Yep, I recommend CL a BB 9650 and wait it out for these new devices.

Probably be paying around the same price on new 9650, but stuck in contract...

I believe network reception is a first in determining a new phone. A good phone without reception is worthless.

Yeah, yeh! Been checking on Tmo's reception and coverage and have yet to read anything encouraging. Probably going with Sprint and the 9650, don't think I can wait for the new releases. Getting great coverage with Sprint right now on my ancient 8330. Gotta love the little tank though. Seems like it will probably outlive me! Thanks again guys for the feedback. See you in the Forums.

You can get a used 9650 on eBay for about $200, probably even less. Don't extend your contract for a phone that's going to be replaced in about 2-3 months from now.

I just got the 9780 on tmo from a 9700 on att. I like the looks of the phone but to be honest, there isn't much difference on the experience from a 9650. I feel GSM carriers are first to get the newer devices so that;s why i prefer that tech vs CDMA.
