For those of you who were upset about TCL tracking your every move with their Weather app: Well, if you're in Canada, you can now let the Canadian Government track your location instead and download the official Government of Canada Weather App!

That question seems harsh and unsympathetic on a BlackBerry forum.

Pretty ugly UI. Seems like a make work project. Plenty of better look Apps that already use their data.

Agreed, but those apps also use a lot of personal data as well. That's what happened with the TCL weather app and the IBM weather app.

Environment Canada doesn't need your data. They're funded by your taxes.

I have been using the Weather Bug app since the early days of Blackberry OS and it’s always worked great for me. As far as the location issue, part of what you give up being on the grid.

And why would I be using an old Android version? lol. Probably just being buggy since I'm in the US atm.

Don't think this app is an issue for BBMo users... but it does speak to the intention of the developer of the App. Hopefully it wasn't TCL, just one of their many sub-contractors.

Going to "assume" that BlackBerry does some testing to make sure no firmware or apps are calling home on BBMo products. Their name is at risk here... and I'm sure they are fully aware of the past issues that have been found on some products from China.
