Z10 users are always talking about their battery and how quickly it runs out. So i was thinking is it possible for BlackBerry to upgrade the z10 battery and offer it online? Does the size of the battery change? I'm just clueless when it comes to batteries and why z10 users struggle so much.

The battery capacity can be made bigger but then the battery size is bigger and wont fit with the rear housing. You would have to design that over again and the user would have to get it

So it is doable. The back cover needs to change too I guess to fit the new battery? Or the whole interior needs a new structure?

This is what I'm talking about. Except that I didn't even know it exists. If Blackberry was to manufacture this and sell it, a lot more z10 users would be happy about their battery time.

It adds a lot of bulk to the phone though. Not a very big selling point. That 3800 Mah battery is for extreme users. I'd rather just leave mine plugged in more often.

You can get 2700 MAH batteries that are the same size on mpjbattery. I heard they were good, going to buy one for my z10 when it arrives.

It's over a year since the z10 released. I'm sure the technology has advanced in the past 18 months that BlackBerry could squeeze more juice into the same size.

Cmon BlackBerry battery power is a hot topic.

Again, I didn't even know this stuff exists. Please make a thread about it once it arrives and you test it.
Why isn't BlackBerry doing this? If other manufacturers are able to so could Blackberry.

Only the back cover would need to be changed. With my Motorola Droid 2 I used from late 2010 through spring 2012, I bought an extended life battery and when I received it, it included a different back cover that could accommodate the larger battery. I think that approach is pretty standard for all manufacturers.

In the tech world battery technology is one of the topics that hasn't seen a great improvement over the last years.
It's a great frustration not only for mobile equipment such as phones, tablets and laptops but it's also a reason why electric cars aren't widely available yet due to the limited mileage of the battery.
A way to overcome this would be solar technology. Scientists are working on a material you can spray on a glass surface, you add contacts on it and bam you have a solar panel. Imagine this being sprayed on your screen or your car's windows. It would increase your usage or mileage.
But let's hope in the mean time battery technology advances as well

Point is, why isn't BlackBerry doing it? Iphone improves specs of phones, slaps an S on the box and sells it for %20 more.
Batteries are part of specs too
