I was told by two ppl at att that i did not need the data plan for AIM/MSN MSNGR now the rep is telling me that i do, even tho its still working with out, this rep also told me that i needed the data plan to send picture msg when i could send them before with out it and the other rep told me that i did not. I was able to send pictues and then had a problem and called ATT and now it seems i can send them again so please*what are the facts here??

depends on your carrier . att goes thru data. vzw goes thru text.

Ummm... no. AT&T uses text for the OZ Messenger. (AIM app d/led through medianet)


Most 3rd party apps use data.

text...I have Verizon but Im 99% sure ATT uses text

Not sure for vzw or att but tmobile you can use wi-fi therfore wouldn't need a data plan (long as you're near any hot spot)

ATT does use txt not data....And I dont use the data cause i cant afford 30.00 more a month..that would make my phn bill 85.00 and i have other things like a car payment rent insurance and other bills that are more important. I would also rather by things like clothes and get my hair done etc that have a 30.00 a month data plan that i would use less than one a month thats why

Well i am on AT&T and i use jivetalk and jivetalk goes through data not text. the only im app that goes through text for at&t is OZ messenger. just like what jayden said.
