    Hi everyone!

Ok so I'm a bit stuck at the moment!

I currently have a 2 month old iPhone 4 in white, But I have been thinking
of trading it for a Blackberry

    I have been offered a 9800 or a 9860.
Just having trouble deciding what to do.

Both iPhone and BB are great phones so I am a bit stuck on what to do

some advice would be really great!!!!

    Thanks a million

Probably need to hear a little more about what you do/what you like/your opinion of each phone.

I have heard some good things about 9850/60. What was recommended to me was to scroll through the forums on the phones in question; and make an informed decision from there. You're looking at two Torch models, so at least you've got it narrowed down to one type of BlackBerry. Check out those forums and see what they're all about. What carrier do you use? Go online and look up their own profiles about the phones: reviews, features, specifications, etc. Good luck!

Well what I do with my phone is

E-mails, Facebook, Whatsapp, Txts(I txt my bf a lot when I'm at work), and phonecalls, I don't really play games on it but I do like an odd app,
I really like the 9800 as it has the keypad

I have been offered a trade for my iphone 4 for a 9800 new, and 40 cash

Both phones would help you do all those things. But make sure that you test out both phones before you make a purchase. Make sure that they can get Wi-Fi, that their network connection is good, that texts/messages gent sent and received, and that you are getting a good product for the right price.

    Well is the 9800 & 40 worth a iPhone 4?

I know my iphone works cause I use it daily but they have said I can try it when they are here and phone my insurance to transfer it from my iPhone to Blackberry

I'd go for a 9810 if you can. 9860 is a BB7 phone, but no keyboard; 9800 is BB6. 9810 has the same slider/keyboard as the 9800 and it might cost you a few , but much better internals and display. Plus BB7 has got it all over BB6.

I only really have the 9800 to pick from as I am not keen on the non slider one.
And I only have til tomorrow to decide

really stuck on what to do

The 9800 or 9810? Because if it's the 9800, no way would I do it. That is last years model with bb6, I had that phone for about a week and took it back because the screen was pretty bad and the phone was just slow and laggy. The 9810 on the other hand is just on a different level and is comprobable with the iPhone depending on what you want to do. For the stuff you mentioned you should be fine, but realize most games are pretty bad on the blackberry unless you're talking about hangman or solitaire.

The screen and performance are the big ones, especially when compared to the iphone 4. It would be a downgrade in almost every aspect except for the keyboard and phone calls. However the 9810 is very comprable when comparing the screen and performance, and it still has the advantage of the keyboard and make/recieving phone calls. And hangman is also really nice on.

I have been offered a 9900 thats 2 weeks old but they can't give me any cash with the trade(I really don't mind)

would the 9900 be any good?

9900 is the best, especially if you do a lot of emails/texting.

But I was told the 9900 has a lot of problems with battery, turning off, crashes, is that true?

The 9900 would be a great choice, definitely over the 9800! It would be a no brainer for me.

I can only speak for myself - but my bb9900 never crashed, and I have full two days of usage on one charge. If you decide to go with 9800 - I would definitely ask for more cash - maybe $200.

So is there many problems with the 9900 I have wifi at home and they said I can test the phone before they leave

No more problems than with any other device, if any. As for battery life, that'll depend on your usage. I have a OS7 9860 and i'm a medium user throughout the day, mainly phone, text, bbm and my battery can last up to a day and a half most times.

    Skip the 9800.

Could go either way with the 9860 but to be honest do you gain anything by making the switch? I don't think so. As such I wouldn't bother even though I love mine.

Now the 9900, thats got potential. It has the physical keyboard you seem to be looking for, everything that BB currently offers on a phone aside from AutoFocus is included on it and its amazingly well built IMO. For your uses this would be a great buy, just try it out before agreeing to buy.

Ok so I have 1 last question.

As both the phones are on contact and I decide to swap for the 9900,
They have said they will phone the insurance while they are here and swap the insurance to the iphones imei and I swap mine to the blackberries imei

Whats to stop the guy phoning orange and saying his phones been stolen as soon as he leaves?

If you're used to the screen real estate with the Iphone 4 I'd go with the 9860 but if you want to be serious with text/e-mail/communications then 9900 is the only choice really. If you're really looking at the 9800 then go for the 9810 instead. Same form factor but MUCH better OS and internals to make the transition from iphone 4 smoother.

The battery on the 9900 is not that bad with the new updated OS. As for the rest of the problems, it's a case of a few "bad apples" yelling at the top of their lungs.
