I haven't found a thread on this yet for all you "forum police" so this should be the first time someone asked this.

Does anyone know how to adjust the volume on BlackBerry 10 while the device is locked? I have searched both the forums and did a general bing search to find out and have come up with nothing. I have also teid multiple things on my own to see if there is some sort of button combo/long press or something. So far, all of that is to no avail. I know someone is going to say something about how you just need to swipe up to unlock the device and to just do it then and that's all well and good, but what if you password protect your phone? It isn't always the most convenient or practical thing to have to type in my phone password just to turn the notification volume up and down or set to vibrate.

Im on 10.2 and i just use the volume rockers and can adjust the volume while locked

That's nice. Don't know what to think that they waited until the second major update to finally give that ability. Just as bad as WP not having copy and paste out the door and the playbook not shipping with native email. What is with companies these days?

Depends on the app I guess.

With the Astral Media app(now Bell Media app) I've always been able to raise/lower volume/pause with the side rockers while device is locked. With TuneIn radio app I still have to unlock to do anything.

I have been able to do this since the start with the phone volume and since 10.1 with music.

I can do it with the media volume but not the ringer volume. It's the ringer I care more about. Gets frustrating having to unlock my phone every time.
