The Sprint BIS account page has a "forgot password" link. You can even have the p/w sent to you as a PIN message.

+1. Since the BIS is tied to the phone that is the recovery method. if you lose your phone and forget the password then the carrier can reset the password.

I forgot. Yes I tried the PIN password recovery method on two separate devices with Verizon. I never got the message. The BIS server would say it sent it. Never showed up on the phone. Verizon could not explain it.
