I have a 9700 of which I pulled out the SIM card to use in my new 9810.

What's the deal with Unlock Codes? I do have an Unlock Code from T-Mobile but there isn't a SIM card in the 9700 any more, the SIM card that was in the 9700 is now in my 9810.

I don't understand the why's and what's of Unlocking a phone. Can you unlock a phone without a SIM card, if there is no SIM card and someone buys this phone and they get a SIM card from their Cellular service will they still need the unlock code,

Can I or even should I put the SIM card back in them 9700 and then stick it back in the 9810????

I have no idea what to do! I'm going to sell it on Amazon and don't want to misrepresent myself.

An unlocked code is used when you want to use it on a different carrier. The Sim card hold your info & can be used to go from one phone to another with the same carrier. You can sell the phone as is & let the buyer either unlock it or use it on the Tmobile network.

You will need a MEP2 Network code to unlock your device.
