    i got a blackberry off the internet today and the pin is locked and i dont know who the original carrier is, is there anything i can do to get the pin unlocked?

    also, i found out the phone is not released in canada, only in china? does that make it impossible to get the pin unlocked?

    Contact the seller and ask them to call the carrier to release the PIN. If they refuse to release it, then give back the phone and demand a refund

    Did you check to make sure it will work on Canadian carriers? Also, that phone is Edge only, no 3G.

    i have my rogers sim card in it and everything works except the blackberry stuff, no bbm, cant go to app world. you know that blackberry registration notice you get when you put a new simcard in? well i didnt get that message so its not even registered with blackberry

    Do you have a Blackberry data account with your provider? If so, did you go to your carriers BIS site and try adding the PIN/IMEI there?

    Go to your carriers BIS site, login (or register if you don't have an account yet) and there should be an option to add a phone.

    rogers actually doesnt support that online, has to be done on the blackberry. but it wont let me do it since its not registered with blackberry

    Did you try for yourself? The BIS servers are controlled by RIM, not Rogers. On the AT&T site there is a switch phone option and there is a button for the BIS server to try and detect your new phone. If not, you'll need to contact Rogers.
