I just ordered the 8900 today and I was wondering if anyone knows if you can lay tracks with it, on the GPS side?

Standalone GPS is way better than the ones currently available on the BB's, Hands down, theres really no comparison.

Eitherway, the BB maps work on att?
I disagree, I have the Garmin Nuvi 1200 and my Garmin for BB works just as well.
I see no difference between my Nuvi and BB. I tested this on numerous routes and it was the same every time.
This was true with the Storm as well.

What about the battery life usage? When you are navigating and get a phone call? The physical GPS and Garmin software for the BB works great but there are other limitations.

"Laying down tracks"? What exactly are you trying to do?

    Maybe there a hunter

And I'd like to chime in on the physical vs BB GPS, I've done both and have no issues with it.
As far as battery life, I've had no issues on my BB as far as calls, txts, etc while running the GPS at the same time. I always get good battery life.
