I'm loving it. I should have a full review of what I think about it posted by the end of the weekend.

It's nice. I thought it would be significantly smaller than my 8700 though, but it's not. It's a little thinner, but pretty much same dimensions otherwise, and not much lighter.

I went with the Pearl, and was very afraid of losing my full keyboard. With only a week under my belt, I can type faster with Suretype than my full keyboard. Combine it's small size, it's 3.2 oz weight, multimedia and camera, and I think I've found the perfect Blackberry.

The 8800 Pearl with a Camera would kick a** over pretty much everything....but wait to see if that comes

I think he means in relation to size, and qwerty. So a pearl, with a camera, BUT, QWERTY GPS, etc, etc...

Gotcha...Honestly, I've been shying away from non-full querty for a long time. But I have to say the Suretype is amazing!! As a long time querty Blackberry fan, I don't think I'll ever go back to a big phone again. Any non-standard word is automatically remembered, it's really amazingly easy to text on this phone. If it weren't for the guy at the Cingular store who recommended this phone, I'd have the 8800. But I'm really glad I went with the Pearl. Slip it in a shirt or pants pocket with no problem...At 3.2 oz, it's one of the lightest phones on the market, and its a Blackberry to boot!!

I have to admit, I've been tempted to get one. But, that suretype, hmm, just not my thing. Albeit I used a 7100 forever and a day...

Wait, are you saying it's different to the 'sure-type' on the 7100 & 7105 models?

I didn't like it on there, thus my hesitation...

SureType has been improved from the 7100 models. Many users have reported they like it much better on the Pearl. I only used SureType on a 7130e and the 8100. I found both to be very good.

When I switched from the 8700c to the Pearl, I was a little hesitant about SureType, but it does actually work really well. There are a few words that still trip me up sometime-- "are" and "see" since the use the same keystrokes gets me when I'm trying to type out something in a hurry, but overall I've really grown pretty acustomed to it.

I think kaserapd spoke to this....I don't have any previous Suretype experience. What I do know, though, is that it's much easier/better than other T-9 predictive texts from "regular" phones.

My buddy just got the Pearl, I checked it out in great detail but it is not for me. It is a really nice Berry for sure yet I just can't seem to stray from the full keyboard. I also checked out the 8800 tonight at the Roger's outlet, very nice unit as well with the exception of the buttons where the trackwheel normally is.
