im with verizon, currently using the 8130 blackberry pearl. i also am subscribed to vz navigator, location set to "location on". i've tried spot and nav4all and yet i cannot locate a gps signal. can anyone shed some light on this for me? is there something i need to alter to get this to work?
have called verizon and the only response i got was "if you get it from handango, it will work with your pearl since its authorized by verizon"
I've been testing Nav4all on a verzion 8130 Pearl using a separate GPS Puck instead of the internal phone GPS. (Verizon has crippled the internal GPS so it will only work with their product.) So far the navigation with direction arrows and distance to destination is working, but I can't get the voice commands to work.
I think we're all trying to determine if you have VZ Navigator with Verizon, is it just VZ Nav that can use the GPS or can other GPS enabled applicaitons also use the internal GPS.
The original poster appears to be using the internal GPS and all I can say is there's no user I've seen posted that indicates you can run multiple simultaneous GPS apps on a Verizon BB.
With an external bluetooth GPS, I know the answer is yes.
I have an 8830, and even if I manage to switch the apps while running gps in vz nav, I couldn't get the other program to pick up a gps signal. I'm trying to see if I can get it to where I can, but as of now, no luck!
