Has anyone tried the new 4gb microsd in a blackberry pearl (8100c)? Does it work with it? The recommended limit is 2gb and AT&T said use the 4gb at your own risk. If your phone gets fried by it, it is your problem.

I believe the Curve & 8800 are the only two at present that support the 4GB memory cards...
I don't think installing a 4gb memory card into your blackberry would harm it. I believe, at most, you would simply have to return it and get a 2gb card. How could memory ruin your phone?
Mem Card sizes are also OS dependant. Chec which OS you have first also.
But as suggestedit wont fry your phone.
I doubt that it could "fry" your phone, but it might just freeze it up...
The 8830 World Edition from Verizin also supports the 4 GB too by the way...
Some of the newer 1st gen Pearls may support them now, and I'm quite sure the Pearl 2 will.... At least the one offered by Verizon...

I will be getting the 4GB scandisk for my 8830 very soon. Can't wait to see how it works!
I've heard of some users with Pearls and the newer OS's being able to use the 4GB cards. However, none of those people have ever offered up a screen shot of their device to confirm it really works.
Is the difference in "generations" od Pearls based on OS that can be flexed or is it deeper like in the hardware? I'd like to update so that I could use a 4gb card. Thanks.
It is only software update. Hardware is same. I know that on my Panasonic X700 was recommended 128MB and I run 512MB.
On other BB forums are people that runs 4GB card in Pearls with 101 software upgrade...
Awesome, thanks!
Anyone try the 4GB micro yet???
