Maybe this is a dumb question, but I'm thinking about getting a BOLD soon (once AT&T pulls the trigger). My concern is this: If I'm not in a "3G" coverage area, will I be able to ride "EDGE"...or will I not be able to use data at all? Looking at the coverage map, I'll be in many places that don't support 3G, and I'm afraid I'll have NO data availability in places I'd otherwise get EDGE. Help.....
If you have 3G enabled and the signal is not strong enough, it will definitely drop to EDGE. The device will always go to the strongest signal regardless. This is part of the problem AT&T is having right now. But yes it'll work, and tests have been done which show the Bold on EDGE is still faster than on the Curve. Hope this helped
And of course JJ is right...like always
