Will I be able to access 3G on this phone?

yes it matters. the Storm 2 is EDGE (2G) only on all the GSM frequencies except 2100 mhz where is offers 3G speeds. considering your carrier is 850 mhz only, i would say no, you will NOT be able to get 3G speeds on your carrier with the Storm 2. only EDGE.
