I hope for Blackberry OS 11.
    A revamped update!
    1) black background on EVERY native apps
    2) performance tuning
    3) faster load up upon restart boot up
    4) better call quality (albeit already the best among other smartphones, but hey! BB is meant for business, better is always welcome)
    5) Native Google play store preloaded in BB OS 11
    6) ability to boot iOS ipa apps? (Miracle, LOL)
    7) More emoticon for BBM
    8) More features, well. I bet others can continue

If everything goes like what claim above then BlackBerry will arise again from its ashes!

Yea guys, shut it with the positivity. All you need to know is this:

    Too little too late.
    Dead on arrival.
    BlackBerry is dead.
Do BlackBerry still make phones lol.
    Etc.

The "gift" is the dropping of "interim" from John Chen's title. He is exactly what the brand needed.

Stop it, dude. Please. Who's going to benefit if a competitor dies? Stranglehold of Apple Inc, Micro$oft Corp and Google is just going to tighten, and no viable alternative in sight. Apart from Ubuntu Phone OS and Jolla, but that's for Linux geeks like me.

Just imagine, if T-Mobile shut shop, VZW and ATT would be laughing all the way to the Bank and the consumer will bleed again. Smaller, swift little competitors keep the big boys in check.

My Z and my Q won't stop working simply because BlackBerry Ltd. shuts shop.
BBRY dead? My Z's alive and kicking.

Too little, to late? I got my Q10 right in time, and I am excited about all the feature updates I can expect soon.

He was obviously being sarcastic and quoting common quoted people say.

Regardless, the list of features from OPs post are not where they should put efforts (besides android compatibility)
    1. Focus on BBM, get new features and channels/video and voice.. heck even screen share out by March and finally get ahead of your competition.
    2. Give devs all the APIs.. want to see call blocking.. at least in 10.2.1 we have headless apps which is so way overdue
    3. Add some glitz to the experience, let TAT loose and put out at least 2 or 3 of their demo concept apps.
    4. Allow us to customize, believe it or not a lot of people really like doing this
    5. Give us other smartphone first features like dual profiles for non BES.
    6. Improve performance because fast is never fast enough. Especially app launching times should be improved .(android especially but native apps take much longer to load on my bb10 than HTC one as well)

In 2014 I would love to see BlackBerry with a new carrier contract that allows BlackBerry to push updates directly to phones. The first update to all phones would be 10.2.1.1925.

In 2014 I would love to see the first large enterprise commitment be the US Department of Defense.

Who said anything about a gift? I got some free Skype credit for my Z10 recently.

A new PlayBook with OS10 would be amazing but that's not exactly a 'gift'.

I'm certainly not trying to pick on you but I find it interesting when I see posts like this (because it certainly isn't the first and won't be the last). I have never really bought in to the tools/toys argument but I'm always interested to know the logic when people say that BBRY's are for business use and then ask about things like more emoticons..
I think the platform as a whole would be better served by the users not picking sides and setting up baracades. I am proud to own a BlackBerry that I can use to communicate with people, consume media, entertain my kids, entertain myself and just generally get stuff done. It doesn't really matter if I'm communicating for work or for pleasure, does it?
