Yesterday RIM released a patch for the Calendar/Reminder problem for devices with the following OS (8830 and 8300 devices and possibly 8800):
    4.2.2.66
    4.2.2.67
    4.2.2.75
    4.2.2.81
    4.2.2.85
    4.2.2.89
    4.2.2.90
    4.2.2.89
    4.2.2.103
The patch also addresses an issue where Internet Explorer or BlackBerry device stops responding after attempting to download the DST 2007 update or Calendar Patch (with an Error 507).

The patch can be downloaded OTA here:
2007 Calendar Patch - blackberry.com/CalendarPatch/patch/index.shtml (add http://www. at the front of blackberry.com when entering on your device)

The link to the patch's web page is:
    BlackBerry

There is currently no USB patch available, but it should be posted on the patch's page when it is.

Not sure I was even having the problem, but did the patch on OS .89 and it shows under Advanced Options and only took 7 minutes to re-boot.

Thank you for that info! I have been needing this update. I tried from my VZW 8830 to type into the BB's browser "http://www.blackberry.com/CalendarPatch/patch/index.shtml" and I am getting an "HTTP Error 404: not Found - the page you are trying to load could not be found. please try loading an different page."

Anyone else getting this problem? Am I putting in the correct address?

    Thank you for your help

    Thanks, Nav!

I have the 8300 and it says that the patch is not available for my software version... does that mean I don't need it?

DLink- that is the same set up I have on mine and was able to get the patch no problem. Not sure I needed it though since I was not having a problem.

Interesting... I just downloaded the patch, and noticed the RIM page said that you *might* need to restart the device....

The download only took a few mins, but I noticed the upload/download arrows going like crazy for the last several mins since the download reported that it was complete. Wondering if the OTA loader was like a starter, which then pulls down additional code once it's started up? My curve seems to be downloading quite a bit since the initial OTA download reported finishing. I wonder if the "20 minutes" they quote involves this second stage download that I'm guessing is happening. The variability in reboot time could be due to this - as some of us will have EDGE connections at patch time, and some might only have GPRS (which is all I have at home). Download activity still apparent now, 10 mins after the initial download reported being done. We'll see how this finishes up!

After the extended download I described in the last post, I was prompted to restart the BB, and it took about 3 mins to do this.

All seemed fine...until I pressed and held the "1" (W) key for VoiceMail - at which point I saw an "invalid phone number" error msg!

I searched for this, and found that it's a pretty common error, although I can't imagine why it happens. Anyway - I manually entered the 1-805 number for TMo's voicemail, dialled it successfully, then saved it as a speed-dial entry for the "W" key. Interestingly enough, the "W" key entry appeared blank prior to my doing this, but I was still warned that I'd be replacing the current entry for "W".

Once the revised speed dial entry was saved, speed dialing VoiceMail seems normal again - and Voice Dialing for "VoiceMail" works just fine as expected.

Odd seeing these side effects from running a "calendar patch"! Hopefully that's the last of these...

    Hello,

I have visited the site on my Blackberry (8800 model), but it says that the patch is not available for the version of the Blackberry OS software that is on my device,

The site seems to indicate that I need 4.2.2.66 or greater. My device says I have v4.2.1.90 (platform 2.3.0.72).

My carrier is 02 (in the UK) their latest version according to their site is v4.2.1.90 - so , does anyone know if there is a more recent version of the OS available.

As I understand it, each carrier has their own OS and you should only install that one on your blackberry?

I want to upgrade because I want to install the calandar patch however that requires 4.2.2.66 - because 02 don't seem to have this available does that mean that I am not actually being affected by the calendar issues and my symptoms (offset dates when synchronising, occasional duplicates) are caused by something else?

    Thanks in advance!

I have v4.2.2.89 on my 1 week old ATT Curve. While uploading the patch OTA I experienced an 11 min "retrieving" lag time, however after that - all worked flawlessly.

Installed and updated a co-workers device (Same as mine) in a total of 4 minutes.

THANKS VERY MUCH for posting this extremely useful thread that has fixed a very annoying problem!!!!!
