Agreed. Without a doubt dump 1 Mobile and sideload Snap.

1mobile is an unregulated Chinese app store filled with pirated apps, old versions of apps, and most importantly, full of viruses, trojans, and the like, because there is no pretense of any security there.

There's no way in hell I'd ever install anything from there on any device that ever had any of my info on it.

1Mobile is also a MAJOR battery drainer because it constantly seems to send alerts about updating most if not all of your other apps... I deleted it from my Passport!

Yeah. Keep your passport clean, No 1 mobile. Get the Snap bar file on CB and sideload when you have time. Not worth the trouble. Also if you want BlackBerry to check the files before download you need to turn the Guardian on.

BB uses a 3rd-party scanner for apps that are uploaded to BB World, yes, but it does nothing for apps from alternate apps stores. Google Play is scanned by Google, but 1Market is completely the wild west... er... um... east.

BlackBerry guardian in 10.3 scans all apps not installed thru bbw. But it's off by default. I don't know how good Is but it does scan the file before installing.

The vast majority of BB10 users are not on 10.3, and even those who are, Guardian is off by default as you mentioned, so, effectively, nothing is being scanned when you install from alternate markets. Plus, even things that ARE scanned won't always be caught...

I agree 100% not everything will be caught so better to not use 1 Mobile at all. I mentioned the Guardian because the OP said new passport, otherwise you are correct in letting anyone who may look at this thread not on a passport or 10.3 leak it's not gonna be there for you all.

I do have to add that the new android runtime has a lot of apps I couldn't run on my Q10 - 10.2.1 working beautifully.
