it keeps notifying me of an unread text message on home screen and it doesnt go away. i go to SMS and nothings there. i checked every other inbox possible. battery pull has been done. helppp.

Try this:
Go to Messages, Press Menu, View Folder. Open each folders and see if there is an unread message.
