Anyone have any guesses or ideas as to when the service providers will release the OS 5.0 for most new devices??

OR! If anyone is running the unofficial 5.0 version how do you like it and is it worth trying????

It should be out early fall. As for people using it now, there are many. Check out the beta OS subforum for findings and discussion about 5.0 on the 8900 and 9000.

Question regarding 5.0. Do software updates upgrade ALL current Blackberry Devices or just the latest batch? Does 5.0 upgrade the Pearl and Curve as well as the Tour and STorm?

For now it looks like the newer blackberrys that came with 4.6 preinstalled will get OS 5.0, although the older ones could get it, but I doubt it..

There are numerous posts and reviews that the leaked blackberry OS 5.0
is bug infested. Some problems include apps disappearing, some not
installing, some not even compatible.

Best thing to sit tight for the official release.

Talked to blackberry about this issue. They said that the curve 8300 series will be supported and the carrier will know more when it will be available to the general public.
