This pic is from the BlackBerry Beta Zone.....whatsapp is updating the features for every devices(bb10 also), it's updating the new features on 17 july...I update mine whatsapp 4 times in just 1 month... and bbm's last update I gon at 30 October 2103.
So I must say the BBM developers are very alow...and this is the reason why all guys are switching BBM to whatsapp....

Umm BBM is just about to launch for Windows devices.

And let's not ignore the fact that WhatsApp service isn't improving with any updates and the platform has become even less reliable since it was bought by Facebook

No I'm not switching to whatsapp... i actually deleted myself completely before deleting the app. And you got it all wrong bbm was updated very recently... you are talking about betazone which is not always public to all.

I use both as some friends won't get bbm. By far bbm is the better platform. I'm not techie but maybe BlackBerry don't update as often as the platform is more stable. And they wait for consumer feedback through these forums and Beta testing.

There have been lots of betas you have not been invited to. Bbm beta is a lot more restricted

OP there has been many updates since October last year. I think for Android that you are currently using, the last update would have been in may this year. See if you have some of these features on your BBM.

Agree with all....i also love bbm.....but through beta zone I think we can mark the developers through their tests...but bbm still not in the que....Question is why they want more and more time to update?

They are using private betas for BBM now, not normal widespread Beta Zone use, like WhatsApp is using. I use both and WhatsApp wins in some areas and BBM in others. For group chats, I prefer WhatsApp, even though their group chats are more like multi person chats. For individual chats, BBM wins it hands down for me apart from a few caveats

If you Are Using a BlackBerry phone, go to BlackBerry World to update it.

If you are using Android phone go to Google play store to get it.

If you Are Using iPhone go to appstore to get it. There has been several updates since October last year. Good luck & hope you have fun.

The general public don't really care about security and tbh I don't see the main stream Bbm been much more secure than whatsapp.

There's not much Bbm offers (cross platform) that whatsapp doesn't.

- voice calls
- large files transfer ie via Dropbox integration
- Glympse
- stickers
- sharing of events, or appointments

BBM has been my fav messenger since I started using ?? 5 years ago. I started Whatsapp probably 1 year later, also on my first ??.

The only advantage to use Whatsapp back then was to communicate with Apple users, like how we ?? users chat via BBM. Android users then joined the crowd, hence making Whatsapp the most popular cross-platform messenger.

Things I like bout BBM :
- Privacy
- Accurate delivery status on msg sent
- Fast and stable
- Easy migration of contacts when switching phones
- New phone, new PIN. This makes housekeeping of contacts in BBM much easier
- Maintain simplicity and enhanced usability

What I like bout Whatsapp :
- Can send multiple pictures and large files

Things I do not like bout Whatsapp :
- No privacy. Literally anyone with your mobile number can contact you on Whatsapp with your permission
- No indication on msg read status
- Often lags in delivery
- Contact list too tedious to manage
