I've just got the z10 and been playing around with it. Have it setup with a separate account, while still using my 9810 for daily activities. Noticed that my status just up dates with BlackBerry marketing crap. Anyone notice this or know how to turn it off?

I'm still on legacy but I remember an option to share or not an app I just installed. I choose, do not share and do not ask again.

Maybe you change that somewhere?

Nor sure what you mean. To attach a photo, minimize the keyboard when in a post and you'll see an attach button. Make sure the CB10 app has permission to access your files.

Nope something wrong some where. App has permission to files. I select attach, it shows the pictures on the phone, but does not attach. Posts a blank message like the one above

What exactly do you mean by "BlackBerry marketing crap"? Are you running official BBM or Beta BBM?

It just updated my status on BBM to "BBM for Android and iphone is here. Spread the word - Get it at BBM.com!"

Its the native BBM app on the z10.

When you initially set up bbm that message comes up. Only the first time though. You can just change your status if you don't want it on there.

That's not BlackBerry marketing crap, that's the message its been sending since BBM went cross platform. I believe you have the option to disable that message when you install / update BBM on BB10. Usually it just sends out the "I made the switch to BB10" status update but I have noticed the Android / iOS message a few times since it went cross platform. And it only sends that update when you sign in to BBM on a new BB10 device, or when you wipe your device and sign in again as it thinks its a "new device". At least that's been my experience so far with my Z10 and Q10, as well as my fiancées Z10 and Q10, my sisters Q10, my brother-in-law's Q10 and my best friends Z10.

Hmmm.. Ok. I had logged in on the device and BBM on Friday, so was kinda surprised this message show up this morning.

That I find a little weird as well, but I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Check in your BBM options to see what is selected. I have my options so that nothing automatically updates my BBM status.

That was my initial concern as well. I would imagine that it did something similar to how Whatsapp sets it the first time. But when it happened almost 2 days after and I was kinda concerned on where any other settings were...
On the bb7, by default it usually left the "what's on your mind" to blank and "status" to available. It did the same on bb10 when I initially set it up

I don't like this either. I'm a supporter of the platform but I feel strongly that BlackBerry should not feel free to hijack our personal communication tools in order to insert and broadcast their own messaging of any sort, especially when it's being presented as in my voice, and I don't get to approve it first. I don't know how prevalent this practice is on other platforms but regardless, it's an invasive and involuntary leveraging of my (and your) social capital, and it should be stopped.

Any idea what the best way is to get BlackBerry's attention?
