I'm not sure if it's ok to post this in the BBM forum, but there's been so much chat about it in other threads, I really just want to see what everyone's opinions on this is.

And feel free to say BBMe if that's you're going to use! ha

Honestly though, I've seen lots of recommendations, always with a list of pros and cons. Regardless of that, I'd like to hear what you've all decided on. Me personally, I'm undecided, and am hoping this helps me make a decision.

My very brief summaries: (please correct me if I give wrong information)
BBMe - Lots of people are saying they're loving it. But that BBMe does not have true enterprise support, and is only meant as an olive branch based on the low numbers who will likely sign up.
Signal - Great for security.
Telegram - Supposedly more feature rich. Good for groups. People wary of possible Russian interference.
Whatsapp - Popular, but owned by Facebook.
Messenger - Literally Facebook.
Threema - Supposedly very good. But pay app.
Hangouts - I don't know many people who use this. Google.
Wire - I know no one who uses this.
GroupMe - Reviews look good. Can be used on PC. But again, I don't know anyone who uses this.
Viber - I know nothing about this.

Never WhatsApp! I use BBMe, Threema, and Signal. BBMe is best of them, it can do all what the others can't (for example best multi-device using).

LOL, those 2 add based , highly unsecured apps whom you have to give your sensitive personal info like phone number etc.... cannot even close compare to BBM Enterprise . Try it.

I can't be bothered to be BlackBerry's marketing department. I only had 2 BBMc contacts, neither of them have any interest paying for BBMe.

Actually they don't have Russian servers. In fact the Russian government has tried for years to block Telegram unsuccessfully.

Just because 'everyone is using' whatsapp or viber doesn't mean its better.
On contrary, it is less good.

Because not everyone is willing to pay the price when there are cheaper options available that will take them from point A to point B.
