Every time I opened the chat room in BBM group it always goes to the last message so I have to keep scrolling up to find the last message that I have read before.

Is there a setting to make the chat room to open at the first unread message?

In WA group chat it will open at the first unread message and also shows how many of them. It saves me from scrolling up and from trying to remember which one was the last message I read.

Would love to have that feature, too. Scrolling up to find the 1st unread message is quite troublesome sometimes.
