I'm okay with advertising that is not in-your-face-unavoidable and I trust BlackBerry to deliver advertising in a fair and unobtrusive way.

Still, for users that are using BBM on the rare occasion or those who haven't picked it up yet, will advertising, in effect or simply the perception of an ad-supported product, be a turn off?

I hope BBM is growing at a steady rate and that ads do not impair that growth. I know that as a discrete operating unit of BBRY, BBM has to make money. I just hope that the consumer-facing ads have not come too soon and that they are implemented effectively.

It'll be a turn off to some but it doesn't matter when it comes, it'll always be that way. Now, later.. doesn't matter.

No its not, if we hope to have BlackBerry around for a long time; if it can't make profit then we can kiss our BB devices good bye.
