I was excited about this BBM4ALL.

Then I found out when I sign into my iPad, it logs me out of BBM on my Q10.

So much for multiple devices syncing my bbms.

Did they not learn anything from Apple?

Will creating a different BBid affect all the apps etc and purchases through BBWorld?
I have three BB devices I rotate and don't want to re buy/reinstal all my apps whenever I change my BB id.

Thank you. Would be nice to have multiple accounts under a single umbrella account.

Yes app purchases are linked to your BBID, so creating a new one will not provide access to previous purchased apps

Wont happen. Only device can be signed into a single BBID at a time. Of course we have been saying for the past 2 years that BBM will NEVER go cross platform and look at us now. Maybe in time.

What genius thought of that. 1 Apple ID....any iOS or Mac device. How hard was it to look at something that worked and implement it into BlackBerry.

There's literally no use for BBM4ALL for me then.

You're a big fan of the legacy stuff right? The PIN being linked to a single device is part of all that. For security reasons. The idea being when a message is sent to one PIN the sender knows only the person that owns that device can read it. BlackBerry is still an enterprise company, lest we forget.

I get that, but turn that argument on its head. I own the iOS devices too that I would want to receive those messages on.

Sorry but BlackBerry would have to offer "BBM consumer" for that. There's no way someone sending sensitive corporate or government messages would want the possibility that it goes to multiple devices that are not in the custody, possibly, of the intended Receiver.

Maybe they'll add something like this later as a separate option that must be agreed to.

Not really. Your phone number CAN be the contact point for iMessage, but it doesn't have to be. You can just as easily use an email address. How do you think all those people with iPads, iPods, and Macs been using iMessage all this time?

Uh, I think you're confused. I don't have a phone number on my iPads, or my iPod touch. They're associated with my appleid and receives messages on all.
