Why when you tap on a contact in BBM do you also have to tap in the message window before you can start typing your msg. I have had this issue for a while now, I looked back thru 5 pages of posts and didn't see the question/answer as yet. I don't recall it always being like that, has it?

Just checked this. No, neither from the HUB, nor from the app itself do I have to select the text field. I can start writing right away.

Past couple months I've had this problem with certain contacts only. Tried deleting the convo and starting fresh and helped for a while. But like I said, only occurs to some contacts. And not all the time.

Happening on ssm as well as bbm.

Thanks for the replies, it's happening with all of my contacts all of the time. Is there a way to delete and reinstall BBM? Would I just delete the bbm bar file and reinstall it?
