Do people still roam these days? Isn't signal side spread by now.. I think the issue is people not fighting to keep their 6gb plans and being forced on these 200mb plans

When NYC costs me 6 GBP per MB, I don't want to receive pics more than a couple of kb.

It's like you guys don't know reasonable compromises. Has to be all or nothing for you. Lol.

There should be two new options: automatically request hq and automatically accept hq requests.

That way, if two people want nothing but hq they can get it. Otherwise they can conserve bandwidth.

    A great solution!

Too complicated? You gotta be kiddin'.

BBM handle compressed pictures just fine. The only time me and my friends request for higher quality is whenever we send gifs.
MVP, I hear what your saying, and I get it that some people don't care for higher quality pictures but many do and that is one of the major complaints from people on WhatsApp trying out BBM. When I get a picture and open it I want to see it crisp and clear. I don't want to have to long hold, request a better quality picture and then wait for the person on the other side to accept. They should out in an option in settings to always automatically send and receive HQ pictures. This way if your of the mind set that you don't want HQ pictures then you choose NO and if you want to always send and receive HQ pictures then you choose YES. Simple.

I seem to like it that way; it gives me options to chose from.

I've been thinking about this lately, maybe the best option would be to have the "request high quality " appear right beside the picture in the chat itself, without having to long press. It would be faster, and also I'd guess 80% of users don't even know the option exists the way it's currently laid out

So guys...the new BBM is here...and we can only always Accept HQ *requests* but no option to always request HQ pictures.

Really wish I could have an option to do away with the tap to request HQ every time. I also wouldn't mind the compression algos to be less aggressive (e.g. Compress 1MB photo to 300kb instead of to 40kb)

Exactly! Less compression is the solution! But for now I think it's good with what they did.
