is there a way to accomplish this? I have only seen instructions on blocking inbound updates from my bbm contacts, but want to restrict my outbound updates. thx

In BBM, swipe down to show your settings. Toggle OFF the "show what I'm Listening to", Show my Time and Country". If you've allowed the Connect to BBM" when installing apps, you'd also have to Go to Application Permissions under Security and Privacy, and toggle OFF "Connect to BBM" where required. That should cover most, if not all outgoing "updates"

Yeah that sort of works, but you can't really stop it.
