PIN/BBID question when switching devices

Just wondering if I ever switch devices (currently Z10) to another platform and download BBM if I sign in with my BBID do I have to send out a new "invite" to all my contacts on BBM? Or does it recognize via my BBID that I'm a current user and my PIN and just import all my contacts to the new device? Just curious, don't have plans on switching platforms. More wondering if BB has built in some convenience to BBM for the people that may switch devices/platforms quickly.

If you use your z10bbid you will get a new pin on new device.

So then tag would require a new invite to current bbm contacts..?

Nope, as long as you select switch

BBID porting over your contacts works. But don't quote me as some have reported it didn't

Contacts will port over. Your Groups will be a disaster if you switch to non-bb Bbm.
