Maybe the individual ur trying to call has a version that doesn't support bbm calls or is not on wifi

Noticed the same thing! It's on and off. I have 2 BlackBerrys on same wifi network and the icon would disappear, reappear, or be grayed out on both with no apparent rhyme or reason. Happened with other contacts as well, both updated and non-updated BBM versions. Must be a software glitch issue with this most recent update.

I noticed the same here with my wife's and my Z10, both with updated BBM that maybe started today or tonight. Video/voice icon usually grayed out, very occasionally going green for short times both on wifi or network with full LTE bars in various site locations. Battery pull and resets and setting to airplane mode several minutes didn't fix it. Ended up looking here in BBM CB forum to see if it was just me. Apparently not just me, maybe a a new bug or BBM system problem. Can't video or voice via BBM. Can only BBM text chat. Glympse also ok, if that means anything. Hopefully, "they" will fix the system or update again to get it working again - IF enough people complain, perhaps.

I am on Rogers and I have BBZ10 with official O/S 10.2.1.3442 version with the latest BBM Version 10.5.3.28 and since the bbm update I am getting this error on every contact " please wait to connect to bbm video service.please wait or try again" and it does not matter if i am on 3G/LTE/WiFi

I have android and on same WiFi and BBM voice works ok n.p

So whats the resolution ? Any Ideas???

Gggrrrr- that's crazy! I knew it was down but I didn't realize my husband's iphone can still call me on bbm voice, I just can't call him - that hardly seems fair!

Everything is fine at least here in Argentina. Using BBM voice and video all day long.

So n4bb reports Australia was not having any problems with bbm voice, now someone from Argentina appears unaffected...is there a trend here? Anyone from Amsterdam want to chime in?

Actually i just re tried I can call from my Android to my Z10 but wont work vice versa...says contact is not available.. So something bizzzaro going on in Chen's office

Everything seemed back to normal, all fixed when I tried it again at 7am. Looks like it was the BBM system and NOT a bug with the BBM update I guess.

Yes it looks back to normal but definitively something was going on. If this would've happened to another big IM app we would've seen a big post about it in CB home page from one of the CB guys for sure...

I'm having the exact same issue guys. I'm currently on a trip to China from Canada. I thought it may have been the server I was using , however, my wife's android device can still use voice chat. The only thing is I cannot call anyone. I hope that this gets fixed soon. Would the latest version of bbm not be compatible in China?

Error message is: connecting to the bbm video service. Please wait and try again.

How does one try again?
I want bbm video back.
