Hello boys and girls,

Updated my BBM today and noticed when I'm not connected to any network (mobile nor WiFi) the voice call option on my contacts still shows green. Was wondering if this is a new bug or just me.

Yes it now glows all the time. Think it was designed this way but should be only if actually available.

It's a stupid option to stay on. Hate it now I don't know who's online. I don't use this and most of my friends don't use mobile calling network.

I reported this in the BBM beta forum and they nonetheless! published this version to the public.

Very upsetting, why do they even bother running beta programs if then they release new versions with known bugs?

Exactly! I also reported this and opened a thread on beta zone, it's ANNOYING and the separation of the video call button is even worse!!

Strangely i didn't he an update notification... had to go to BlackBerry World manually to fetch the update

Hello,

I still have all my contacts showing the green voice chat option as available despite having downloaded the latest update. On top of that my channels are not getting updates and no notification. Since we can't delete BBM and reinstall it there is not much I can do besides hard reboot. I will not wipe my phone nor reinstall the OS just because BlackBerry did something foolish again. Guess I'll have to live with it until some miracle happens and it starts working like it should be again.

Nothing is fixed in 10.8.5.15: still green icons all the time! Very annoying!!

And another annoying thing is that the message "is typing a message..." only pops up for a second, instead the time while my contact is typing a message... so I can't see if he or she is actually typing or already finished and left the chat...

I wonder why they changed this behaviour!! It's so stuoid to change something which is working perfect!

Lol I seriously wonder who makes these decisions at BlackBerry. Separating the video and calling icons looks worse and I was also wondering why my contacts were always available for a call lol.

Did you notice how many times they changed that button? Once bigger then smaller then changed it to black and gray now back to green and separated video call button, a 5 year old at BlackBerry is playing with those buttons, seriously!!

Hey!! Don't diss 5 year olds. A 5 year old would want to be able to sort stickers AND would probably like the call buttons to show in red, green and to confirm before calling.

I've just downgraded BBM and everything works fine the old fashioned way with ONE icon which changes color!

When I try the icons are green and I select voice, BBM tells me "The person you called must be a BBM Friend". If this is the case then gray out the icons. Why do I have to select it only to tell me I can't make the call.

Hijack? Was a simple question. But the problem was solved. It was an local issue we were facing in my country. Thought it was global.
