Do you guys know any iPhone users that are experiencing BBM freezes since the last update (version 2.5.0.26 that rolled out Oct 31, 2014)? Any help I could offer to my friends? I had them delete and reinstall to no avail.

Which iPhone are you using? No issues on iPhone 4s here but I must say that iOS 8 has been terrible for all apps.

Well it's not me, I am a Z10 user lol. I'm the token BlackBerry friend and my friends use either iphone 5s or iphone 6... I will ask them about other apps on iOS 8

Have they rebooted ? BlackBerry isn't the only OS that requires reboots from time to time.

I heard there are big issues with IOS8 and BBM.

Also an hour ago a guy was complaining over twitter about how BBM isn't compatible with iPhone6 and 6+, the resolution is horrible he says.

Honestly if BlackBerry could fix that before Whatsapp it will be a great advantage, the reviews on IOS for whatsapp is horrible since IOS8 came out.

They restarted after installing but not after deleting. I will tell them to Delete BBM, Reboot, then reinstall BBM then Reboot once more and let you guys know what happens.

My father is on iOS 8 and updated bbm. No complaints yet. Maybe it's an issue with the iPhone 6 and up.

It's not. I've had several people complain about BBM being really laggy and slow because of the new update. They're using iPhone 4 and such. No iPhone 6 users.

Yeah so they did the reboot after deleting and after installing... no luck. The problem looks like it's with ios8 because they say a few other apps aren't working as well either.

He's on iPhone 5 so I don't know about the other iPhones. But on iPhone 5 it's working well. Something is not right that's for sure. Could be a mix between iOS 8 issues and bbm optimization.

Definitely could be a mix like you said. My friends didn't start having issues until they updated BBM over the weekend.

My wife has an iPhone 5s and it's frustrating every time I send her a BBM message and it doesn't go through... In cases I have had to send a regular txt so she can open BBM and refresh... she has the latest update too. I think it has something to do with iOS putting apps to sleep after they open a certain number of apps. I constantly remind her to close unused apps, but this is something I guess most iOS users fail to do as well. On the the other hand, whatsapp seems to go through seamlessly all the time, but this could be because she is constantly opening and using the app which allows it to stay connected somehow...

    Check these settings
Specifically, make sure alerts style is set to "banners" or "alerts"
Also, I think "Show in notification center" should be on

The 2.4.1.35 update added iOS 8 compatibility.

If they're running iOS 8 on an iPhone 4/4s it will be leggy because that hardware is pretty old to be running it. I use them for work so know this frustration.

Another interesting thing is that when my friends (with iphone 5 & 6) and I communicate individually in BBM, it works well, i.e. no freezing. However when we communicate through our BBM group, they have issues with BBM freezing. They say, within the group, if they try to scroll up to view previous messages the app will freeze but individual chats work ok

Tell them within the group chat, hit menu > chat history and make it shorter (1-7days, I prefer 3 days)

I would recommend that the admin do this, but im not sure if the admin can set this globally.

That didn't work for them either. Sucks. I hope BlackBerry can address this. Hopefully ios users are making them aware.

    Hmm pretty weird.
I don't have any ios users in my group anymore, or else I'd check for you.

Have you tried removing the person from the group + wait a couple minutes + re add them?

Or have they tried to uninstall bbm, reboot then reinstall?

If all else fails, try this

I tried everything else except removing them and re-adding them to the group. I highly doubt that will help I will try though. I will fill out one of those support forms on their behalf. I hate touting BlackBerry and have this happen... lol they are all like "man BBM sucks blah blah blah" it's all in good fun though
