Gave it my phone number, it searched all my contacts.
Boom app is ready..
Amazing app I hate to admit it...

Works great, and it's like a Facebook with video chat... pretty nuts!

My entire contact list has tango apparently..

You can post activities and like ****. Comment etc. Etc.

Kinda scary to be honest.. I don't see how BBM Can compete with this one...

By "sideload" do you mean you installed the apk from Snap, Amazon, etc? Splitting hairs, but sideloading means converting an apk to a bar file, then loading to your device via your PC. Just saying!

Regardless, why not just install it from BB World?

BUT ANYWAY...
I've never used Tango. Your description sounds a lot like WhatsApp. Do you use WhatsApp too, and if so how does it differ?
I didn't think Tango was that popular in N.A. but maybe I was incorrect.

I tried Tango on my Z10. It was a pos. I tried the version in BlackBerry World & Snap too.

I side loaded Snapp and just downloaded tango from there.
I've used what's app before it's nothing like whatsapp..

There is a time line for all your friends.
(btw by friends I mean your entire BlackBerry contacts)
Just like Facebook where u can post pictures, statuses. And anyway can comment like and share etc. Etc.

I searched for tango in BlackBerry world.. couldn't find it, can u link me?

Just found tango in BlackBerry world.
I guess I over looked it due to the horrible reviews.

I won't bother downloading that.
The one from Snap works ok I guess.. pretty laggy but whatever.. it works.

And when someone messages me I get it instantly via hub -> notifications only.
Obviously can't add the tango account to hub directly.

That way they would see the demand, can eventually ( I hope) would have added all these features..

The only thing BBM Got going for itself is screen share, channels, and of course security something people obviously don't care about.

none of my friends use BBM.
My contact list is filled with people I don't know from crackberry. So depressing...

Tango actually has commercials here in the states advertising everything the app can do..

I never once seen a BBM commercial.
Also... I seen my FIRST and only BlackBerry commercial ever in 2013..

No need to get paranoid on phone number based chat apps. The majority of the people love it. They are not bothered much in createing a PIN. WhatsApp, Tango, Viber and many more are phone number based and it has been proven that the world enjoys using it.Someday BBM may have no choice but to include phone numbers if the market share is not growing.

Really don't see a need for ANOTHER chat app. BBM works just fine and does all that now without "sideloading" or Android crap. To each his or her own...Enjoy!!

i just try, hope you're kidding, the application is slow and has many crashes, really, are you comparing this with BBM? not even showning in the hub, what a crap app, you just made me lose 10 minutes of my life .

Well, I'm not a social person, so it's of no interest to me. But looking on their website, it looks like a Windows desktop client would be the biggest difference. Also, the integration with Spotify so you can share a song with a friend... edit.. no you can share clips of songs.

From the screenshots, I don't see read status. To me, that is a must have. Otherwise, I'd just use text. Doesn't everyone get them beyond reasonable use nowadays? Though I hear of the stories of teenage girls doing like 30,000 texts a month, so..

The founder of Tango looks like he starts a company and sells it after a few years. Given the money WhatsUp just pulled in, I can see this guy making a ton of money selling and cashing out. I wonder when WhatsUp was bought, why I never took any notice of this company whatsoever. How did WhatsUp drive up the price beyond its value when there was a similar service as WhatsUp, and based in USA? That seems fishy.

hmmmm ..........................don't like the idea that all my contacts are scanned not very secure .......i only want ppl that i want in my list to chat to and that is the best thing about bbm............lets see what happens when you get ppl contacting you that you don't know,i wont be using tango you can keep it

BBM's next update has to be major!!

- a new simplified UI, that looks modern and cool
- BBM video calling cross platform already
- make the app lighter on resources for Gingerbread phones
- bug fixes
- and it's time to ride the wave, BBM needs to increase it's user base.. how? people need for God sake finally to find their friends easily... how? by phone number!! oh no thank you i'm not going to give out my phone number, I say look at this idea here first, and read really carefully

I would say it's nothing new. WeChat do that, too. It's just a matter of where you are and how popular it is in your country. In most parts of East Asia, we use Line, WeChat, or Viber more.
