So in a desperate bid to keep from becoming total irrelevant, BlackBerry just last week finally went crossplatform on only two other platforms.... and now everyone that hasn't built an app for a platform that has less that 1% marketshare is a .... hole?
To be a useful cross platform IM, BBM need Windows Phone and Windows Desktop. But more importantly it needs SMS support like iMessage has.
No.. Not really interested
Easy... NOPE

It's generally best to inform yourself before attempting to take a hit at someone. You might end up looking foolish.
Name the BlackBerry that launched at AT&T since 2007 and I've bought it. Literally. The 8310, 9700, and 9900 in multiples because I bought them for family members as well as mine. Most of them cash. The only one I haven't got is the Q10.
And yes, I've had three iPhones, two Samsungs, and one Motorola Atrix. I'm working on getting a Lumia.
So.....like I said, inform yourself.
*SNAP* Someone looks foolish.

I would. I prefer BBM by far, but my nephew uses iMessage to message family on his iPod Touch and BBM does not work on the iPod.
I love BBM and can't wait until they update features and functionality. There is so much potential here.
I went from 1 BBM user to 11. None of the additional users even knew what BBM was or used another similar service, except iMessage. Now they use it all the time. I have some more people to get on, but I wait until I am in person and basically set it up for them. It's easier to convince if they can see it and play with it. People hate setting up their BlackBerry ID for some reason.

Of course I would and am so would you and most others. It is YAMA (Yet Another Messaging App like WeChat, Viber, WhatsApp , BBM, etc). The advantage about BBM for BlackBerry device users is already sold! So any app which helps additional messaging capability is always welcome specially when it addresses the larger majority-Apple device users are a majority!

So many of the posts in this thread are silly. The *ONLY* reason not to use iMessage is because it "locks up" your phone number for SMS purposes, and it can be, under certain circumstances (like having ditched iOS), hard to unlock.
iMessage is hardly crap, works well, and is a strong messaging platform. All other comments here about it sucking, etc., are non-sensical.

And you glorify imessage on a BlackBerry enthusiast site instead of on imore because ... ?
I do not glorify it. In fact, I said I would not install it. RIF! Reading Is Fun!

I'd give it a try. Some of the iMessage concepts make sense to me.

I have an iPhone. iMessage is quirky at times. Doesn't always send messages and your contacts don't always receive them. BBM is blazingly fast and I have yet to hear from a contact saying 'never got your message'......just saying...
No way, only because it's just so poor, like BBM the day it started
BBM
Sure will try it if it is free. If I like it I will keep it if I don't then DELETE

Yep, untill all my iphone friends end up installing BBM.
NO

I would why not? If they can have BBM why can't we have IMessage?
Posted via CB10
Ok after reading reviews if it involves me providing my phone number and nearly impossible to remove I rather not. For that I would have kept WhatsApp.

I'd prolly install it but not use it. I just came from an iPhone and once I got bbm I refused to I imessage anyone lol
I message is pretty useless. It's sms with delivered and read status that most people choose to disable

Do you mean to say iMessage is so poor like BBM! Why did find BBM poor?

It's worthless to release for BB because those users will proclaim BBM king no matter how much better your service is, and organize a boycott of your app.
Better to just ignore them. They aren't many, anyways so use the resources to get better on other platforms.
