So here's my question. While I do appreciate BBM compressing pictures to save on data, I think they are WAY to compressed and look extremely horrible, who in the world would want to look at a 10kb picture!? If I sent something is for the other person to see, not for him/her trying to guess what is in the picture. I'd say a 200kb photo would be enough to look good and save on data.

Anyways /rantoff, I also like the HQ option because it is a solution for this. But my question was, how HQ is it really is? Because I just can't bare the horrible low quality photos me and my friends always go for HQ, but I mean, an iPhone photo is 2.5mb. Does the HQ photo is 2.5mb also? I just want to look the photo in detail on my cellphone not to have it printed on a poster . And for 2.5mb each, data goes fast.

2.5MB? Oh no. I don't think the HQ ones are sent anywhere near that...The last one I requested came in at 922.21 KB...

I've had a HQ pic come through in the MB's. All depends on the size of the file.

If it's 3MB and you request HQ, it sends all 3MB .

It doesn't matter what the size is, if you ask for HQ, you get the full pic exactly like the original.
