Hello everyone! does anyone have an idea on how to backup bbm contacts on android devices?

it is tied with bbid so no matter you change device as long as you sign in with same bbid your contact will be there

That's how people who previously used a BlackBerry in the last 2-3 years got all their old contacts back by just signing in with their old BBID

Some, not all. I for one downloaded the first day available and didn't get mine back from my Bold 9900 days.

That being said, I've done numerous ROM updates on my Android phone since installing BBM and every time I do a clean wipe, I re-enter my BBID info and all my contacts and data come back.

Cloud bbid backup started on bbm7. So on your 9900 when you left it you were pre-bbm7. So it did not tie to your bbid and backup in the cloud. As long as it is done on bbm7/8/10 you are good
