    Hi I have sold my Z30 and need to get my contacts etc off the device and wither transferred to my iPad or to an older model. I don't need my apps but need to keep text messages and contacts. Is there a way to move them. I have not decided if I will upgrade to a new Blackberry device or go another route.

    Download the app "Device Switch", from BlackBerry World on to both of the device. Follow the instructions on screen. It's pretty easy.

    there is no option to down load device switch for bold 9780. I just followed someone else's advice to email them to me, now I have over 200 contacts linked and can't unlink them

    Correct. The 9780 only ran OS6.

    You'll need to get an app like 'Ultimate Backup' on your Z30 and use it to backup texts, call logs, contacts etc.

    BlackBerry Link can back this data up but it can't transfer it to older devices.

    come to think of it, it was a 9790...however, I was running os7 long before it was officially made available. not sure if the same was possible on the 9780, but I see it had less memory and no touch screen. i'll shut up now.
