    whenever I receive a .gif file on BBM or send it across, I only get a .jpeg file, the file doesn't play, nor the person whom I send a gif file is able to see the moving image.
    it's just a normal image file.

    Yes, when BBM first came out on BB10 you could send and receive gif files. Make them your profile picture and they would remain gif files, that actually moved. But for some reason over the course of updates this stopped functioning and it appears BBM no converts the gif files into jpeg's, shame. Bring back the the ability to work with running gif files.

    The receiver has to request hi res and it goes back to Gif. Really annoying and yes dumb.

    I asked the person, to see the option of HQ request, but it does not appear in the phone.

    They need to long press the image, then it will popup as an option.
