Seriously, the new emotes are not working correctly cross-platform. Emotes from my BlackBerry show up as characters on my friends iPhone. Emotes from the iPhone appear as characters on my BlackBerry, but as emotes in the instant notification :S

Of course they do testing....

But it's like the whole rebooting issue with the US Z10's, testing doesn't always catch everything. And even when there are knows issues, it's better to push out what you have now then wait three week to push a patched version that will in turn have other issues. BB10 and now BBMx are very new software packages and it is to be expected that there will be issues. Apples, Google and MS all have problems with updates not always working correctly - granted they have more mature system and the issues are fewer, but they do happen.

BlackBerry has come a long way in a short time with BBMx.... but I think they have burn a few too many bridges in their rush for relevance.

Turns out my friend had mistakenly updated to a more current BBM version, but not 2.0. My bad!

Still, nice of you guys to come to the rescue of Sir Jes! Bravo! Clearly I was giving him too hard a time, and he was entirely justified in his assery
