Using your pc or mac sync or download the app to itunes and navigate to the directory to locate the .ipa file. Transfer to appcake or installous directory and install via the device.

Exactly. Like carrying a call without it dropping required the phone to be held a certain way, installing this app also requires "a certain way."

The whole premise of BBM is that it is always on. WiFi devices are not always connected, defeating the purpose of BBM. This has nothing to do with BlackBerry failing to get it to work on WiFi. This was an intentional decision to block non cell devices from screwing up the always connected image of BBM.

No, I absolutely get your point. It is what it is, kinda like antennagate was. Anyways, that's not here or there now.

Thanks for the help darkshin0b1 but it wasn't successful for me. I was all set to jailbreak the ipod to do this but it seems you can't jailbreak a unit on iSO 6.1.3 or higher

it sucks it wont work with ipods and i[ads only with wifi but im sure they will come up with a solution the good thing is that at least they brought it out for iphones and androids im sure later on they will bring it out for more devices or someone will find a way around to bypass it.

So it's guess all other IM apps have a screwed up image then since there is no reason for it not to work on only wifi.

I have it installed and working on my ASUS MeMO HD Pad 7" 16GB Android 4.2, even though it does work, it does have lag.

I think BBM only REQUIRES gps to operate.

There are numerous reports of BBM working on wifi-only iPad mini which does not have GPS. Can't confirm myself as I don't have an iPpad mini. Would love to sideload a copy onto my wifi-only iPad3, but still looking for a reliable source for the ipa file.
