Why can't I delete single post in a conversation. I thought this was possible on previous devices. It's currently possible on sms msg's but not in bbm's!

No sorry, it's never been possible in a BBM Chat for as long as I can recall.

I didn't know it was an option in a text chat either though, but you're right it appears to be, although I didn't try it.

It's never been possible even in legacy devices
Regardless, with messaging apps or SMS, even if you "delete" the post on your device, the receiving end still receives it

It's possible on WhatsApp, not on BBM.

Instant messages are just that... instant (or at least close enough to instant). Regardless of whether you delete it on your device or not, it'll be on the recipients end so deleting it is only going to make you not see it, not make it disappear from the chat all together.
    Coffee Shampoo likes this.

I understand that the recipient will have show the message, and that's not the issue. Sometimes I have to send info that is private to only myself and the recipient and I do not want to leave that info on my chat history.
